SERVING VOLUSIA & FLAGLER

HALIFAX URBAN MINISTRIES  |  1340 WRIGHT STREET IN DAYTONA BEACH

OUR MISSION

The mission of Halifax Urban Ministries (HUM) is to instill hope

in those who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless

by meeting needs and helping achieve self-sufficiency.

WHO WE ARE

Halifax Urban Ministries is a faith-based nonprofit that has been serving those in need in Volusia and Flagler counties since 1981, driven by the belief that every person matters to God.

While 68% of our funding comes from State and Federal grants, the remaining support comes directly from our local community. We are proud to say that 94% of every dollar goes directly toward providing essential services through the following programs:

  • Feed-a-Family: Distributes groceries at four locations (Ormond Beach, Daytona Beach, Port Orange, and New Smyrna Beach) and two schools (Campbell and Beachside).
  • Bridge of Hope Mobile Pantry: Delivers daily hot meals to the unsheltered and food insecure in the 32114 zip code.
  • Pathways to Housing: Offers homeless prevention and assistance services throughout Volusia County.
  • Hope Place: Provides emergency shelter and transitional housing for families with children and young adults who have aged out of the foster care system.
  • Barracks of Hope: Offers transitional housing for male and female veterans.
  • Cars Bring Hope: Provides reliable transportation to individuals in need, helping them regain stability.

These programs reflect HUM's ongoing commitment to uplifting and supporting those most vulnerable in our community.
