Executive Director - Troy Ray
As of October 1, 2003, Troy Ray assumed the position of Executive Director of Halifax Urban Ministries. Troy is a graduate of Central Bible College of Springfield, Missouri and received his Master of Divinity degree from Asbury Theological Seminary in Kentucky. Troy has brought great vision, greatly expanded services and excitement to the organization.
Ormond Program Supervisor - Arlene Clark
Serving in the Ormond Office as Program Manager, is Arlene Cook. Arlene is another long time resident and is blessed with four daughters and two grandchildren. She has a long history of helping people, having worked in the school system for fifteen years as a Special Education Teachers Aid an in nursing homes in the area. Arlene has been a HUM Volunteer for more than four years helping to serve the 75 families that rely on the Ormond Office for support, She "Just loves helping people!"
Bridge of Hope Program Director - Bess Dufoe
Another major program is the "Bridge of Hope Hot Meal" program at the Homeless Assistance Center. Here, HUM is responsible for preparing and serving a hot, nutritious meal seven days a week to over 300 clients a day. Bess Dufoe is the assigned Program Manager of this important HUM ministry. Bess prepares the menus, directs the acquisition of the food stuff and supervises the more than 400 volunteers required to put it all together. Her day starts early in the morning working with the volunteers for the day, preparing the food to be served and keeping the serving line humming. By the time everything is cleaned up and ready for the next day it indeed is a long but rewarding day.
