Halifax Urban Ministries Events and Fundraisers

Empty Bowls is an international project that brings together the arts community and non-profit agencies to fight hunger. Participating artists create and donate ceramic bowls that guest select to use that day and keep as a reminder of all the empty bowls in the world.

Since 2009 art students from Volusia County Schools have created ceramic bowls for the Empty Bowls event sponsored by Halifax Urban Ministries. Guests use the bows to sample soups from local restaurants. Professional artists from Arts on Granada donate bowls for a silent auction.

Enjoy an afternoon of entertainment and social interaction with others in the community who are committed to addressing food security in our area. Learn about the work of Halifax Urban Ministries while enjoying great soup, salad, bread, and desserts donated by local restaurants. Bid on original art, gift baskets, restaurant & entertainment certificates, and many other items in a silent auction.

Ticket prices are $25.00. One hundred percent of the proceeds from ticket sales are devoted to addressing hunger in Volusia County.

The event is held at Hope Place at 1340 Wright Street in Daytona Beach.
